Dumas Cemetery:In my Field of Purple Flowers

I love Dumas Cemetery Located In Grayson County. When  I first arrived my dad was kind of skeptical about it, being worried about snakes. Since it was early spring  and winter had just broke I told him I  really doubted there would be any snakes. The first marker I noticed was that Of Mr . and Mrs. Dumas which looked like a gateway. ( the One I am pictured next to looking up at.) To me this cemetery was so Victorian, and Gothic a hideaway from the world to lie undisturbed as the world turned and these peoples ideals feel away. The purple carpet of flowers ( pictured Above) gave me that romantic ideal. This is such a beautiful cemetery and captured a melancholia feeling of peace and acceptance all at the same time. What really did it for me in this cemetery was the Cherub face that seems to say she is only gone for now. To Learn more about this cemetery and its burials visit the site below.
